England - Panama host city blighted by flood
England’s fans face a wet welcome when they arrive in Nizhny Novogorod when they arrive for Tuesday’s match against Panama.
The city, located on the River Volga, had been enjoying clement weather until heavy rain fell so violently that some drivers were stranded, and water levels rose above wheel-height.

The water quickly dissipated as it drained away, and the weather returned to normal summer sunshine. The match between England and Panama won’t be the first game for the city to host, having already seen Sweden take on South Korea on Monday.
