In the ongoing Test series between India and England, Jadeja got the wicket of his counterpart Moeen Ali to claim his 450th wicket across all formats, which made him the second Indian player after former captain Kapil Dev to achieve the milestone.

In April, Jadeja smashed 36 runs against Harshal Patel in an over of the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the all-rounders pummelled five sixes and a four in a power-hitting spree. In that match, he became the first CSK player to score a fifty and pick three wickets.
