Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne believes England needs to play ‘risk-free’ cricket in the first session and then go for the aggressive route depending on how they fare. He also believes all the results are possible in the match between England and India.

England has started their chase in near-perfect fashion, with the openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed holding the fort till the end of the day’s play. They were on 77/0 in their pursuit of 368 and will back themselves to chase down the target since it’s a flat track.

However, they can’t afford to have any lapses and also need to play with a set plan in mind. Warne suggested one such method to follow, and it involved scored more than 130 runs in the final session.

All 3 results alive at the Oval today. If I was Eng this is how I would go about it. 1st session risk free cricket & aim for 70 runs (bonus anymore). 2nd a bit more aggressive 90 runs & last session when bowlers tiring & wickets in hand 130 runs or can India take 10 wkts or a draw,” Warne wrote on his Twitter account.

“We just have to tick it off slowly” – Chris Woakes

England bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes was positive about the chances of his team going into the final day of the Oval Test. He believes the team can achieve the target playing in front of a packed crowd at the ground

We just have to tick it off slowly. We won’t get too far ahead of ourselves. I hear that it’ll be a full house so the atmosphere will be great. And that’s where you want to be as a player.

I watched the first three Tests of this series at home and was desperate to be a part of it, so I’m absolutely buzzing to be here, and hopefully, we have an opportunity to win,” Woakes added.

England goes into the fifth day needing 291 runs to win, with all their 10 wickets intact.
