England vs India 3rd Test: Aakash Chopra Reckons Indian Bowlers Didn’t Create Enough Pressure On Day 1

Former Indian batsmen Aakash Chopra had highlighted India’s bowling mistakes on day one at Headingly as England had stamped their authority so far in the Test. England bowled out India for a mere 78 in the first innings at Leeds and it was an excellent bowling performance from all the English seamers who collectively did well.

The England batsmen who were under a lot of criticism so far created an excellent opening stand with Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns playing out the remaining day. They scored 120 for no loss at the end of day one taking a lead of 42 runs and the Indian bowlers looked totally out of answers.

Aakash Chopra Feels Ishant Hasnt Found His Rhythm Yet

Aakash Chopra opined that India’s bowling hasn’t hit the mark yet as there were a lot of freebies bowled and felt that there wasn’t pressure build-up towards the batsmen. He reckoned that Ishant still hasn’t found his rhythm as he looked to be struggling on the run-up. He finally lauded Bumrah for looking the most likely to get a wicket.

“Bowling was fairly okay. The pressure was never created from both ends. Ishant Sharma is still finding rhythm. I don’t know something has happened, his rhythm has not come good in this match.”

Bumrah is looking good. He got an edge as well but that catch was dropped.” Aakash Chopra told on his Youtube Channel’

Aakash Chopra Expects A Lot More From Shami

Aakash Chopra mentioned that India missed the trick by bringing in the in-form bowler Mohammad Siraj very late and expects a lot more Mohammad Shami who looked a little sluggish. He added that the pitch would have looked a lot easier to bat if India could have found a way to stay until the third session.

They got Mohammed Siraj very late, he bowled the 18th over, I was a little surprised.”

“I was expecting a bit more from Shami. I am still expecting a bit more but the pitch is slow and you are getting a lot of time. If India had lost just one or two wickets in the first session, they would have made England chase the leather in the next two sessions. But that did not happen and England is in the driver’s seat.” He added

India has a lot of work to be done on the second day of the test as England is already running away with the Test.
