Welcome back to the Evening Standard's coverage of England vs Pakistan.

James Anderson moved within one wicket of 600 in a frustrating fourth day that was dominated by rain and bad light.

The Lancashire man entered the field of play on 598 Test wickets with Pakistan trailing by 310 and England needing 10 wickets to seal a 2-0 series win.

After starting on time, the players begrudgingly walked off for a lengthy rain delay that spanned both lunch and tea.

Returning for a mammoth final session, Stuart Broad claimed England's first wicket, before Anderson moved within touching distance with a scalp of his own.

A combination of bad light and rain enforced an early close, and with the forecast looking ominous tomorrow, England and Anderson will simply hope to wrap up the series while they can.
