Joe Root returns for England for the second Test following the birth of his second child but the hosts are without Jofra Archer after he was dropped for breaching Covid-19 protocols.

Batsman Joe Denley has been dropped from the squad, while pace bowlers Jimmy Anderson and Mark Wood have been rested as England look to level the series after West Indies won the first Test at the Ageas Bowl. Stuart Broad does return, however.
