Yesterday marked the beginning of the Women’s Euros 2022, and the competition, which started in 1982, will take place in football stadiums across England.

This means the Lionesses have the home advantage, and expectations are building for the team, captained by Leah Williamson, and coached by Sarina Wiegman.

England are 4/1 to win the competition, hoping that they can at least reach the final of the tournament which they last hosted in 2005, having last reached that stage in a major tournament back in 2009 when they lost to Germany in the final.

The team will have to fend off fifteen other nations on their path to the final, which will take place at Wembley Stadium.

When are England's Women's Euro 2022 games?

England will next face Norway on Monday, July 11, with kick-off scheduled for 8 pm.

The England team are in Group A, alongside Austria, Norway, and Northern Ireland.

England already has three points thanks to a one goal win over Austria from Beth Mead, in the 16th minute of their opening match.

Speaking with the BBC after the game, head coach Sarina Wiegman said: “I’m not frustrated. I just think we can do better.

“The first game in a tournament, it’s so important to win and have a good start. We have shown different phases – some good, some not so good.

“We started not very good. We did a lot better [then]. The second half we created chances but were too sloppy on the ball.”

However, in order to take their place in the latter stages, there is a packed group schedule for teams to navigate, with 22 games taking place over the course of the next couple of weeks.
