England XI vs Hungary: Starting lineup and confirmed team news - Jack Grealish in for World Cup qualifier

Jack Grealish makes only his third senior England start tonight as the Three Lions play their first match since losing the Euro 2020 final.

Manchester City’s £100million playmaker replaces Kieran Trippier, who drops out as Gareth Southgate reverts to a four-man defence for the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Hungary in Budapest.

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho misses the contest with a knock sustained in training on Wednesday.

England face three games in seven days during this international break and have already lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury, while there have been fears over Tyrone Mings.

England have won all three of their qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup so far but this will be the first game since their defeat by Italy on penalties in the final of Euro 2020 in July.

"We have to start again," said Southgate. "The journey to having the chance to have another run like that in a tournament is underway, and in these qualifiers you've got to be at your very best. Mentally, this is a good test for us."
