Engoulvent seals Dunkerque title

Jimmy Engoulvent completed overall victory in the Quatre Jours de Dunkerque as Matteo Pelucchi won the final stage in a sprint finish.

The Italian rider from Europcar was just too quick for double stage winner John Degenkolb at the end of the 176.1km stage from Bethune to Dunkerque.

Sebastien Chavanel, Nico Sijmens, David Tanner and Pieter Vanspeybrouck escaped after 33km but their lead was limited to little more than two minutes by Engoulvent's Saur-Sojasun team-mates.

Vanspeybrouck lost contact but the remaining trio were joined by Andriy Grivko and Francesco Reda only to be caught with 15km remaining.

A sprint finish ensued in wet conditions on the Boulevard Sainte Barbe with Engoulvent finishing safely in the pack to finish 42 seconds ahead of Zdenek Stybar on GC, courtesy of his crucial victory in stage three.
