Premier League top six mini-league: 2017-18 fixtures for Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd

Leicester City moved on from Claudio Ranieri's sacking in style as the Premier League champions thrashed Liverpool 3-1 on Monday night to damage Jurgen Klopp's top four hopes.

Fresh from the departure of title-winning manager Ranieri on Thursday, Leicester scored their first league goals of 2017 as Jamie Vardy netted either side of a spectacular Danny Drinkwater volley at the King Power Stadium, with Philippe Coutinho scoring a consolation.

The result means Arsenal hold onto fourth place in the table as Liverpool remain fifth, but Leicester's victory sees Crystal Palace slip back into the relegation zone despite their 1-0 win against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

League leaders Chelsea won their 12th home match in a row in all competitions 3-1 against Swansea to ensure they remain on course for the title.

They were grateful, though, to a bad error from Swans keeper Lukasz Fabianski, who allowed Pedro's 72nd-minute effort to trickle in and put the hosts back in front, with Diego Costa going on to net a third.

Fernando Llorente had earlier cancelled out Cesc Fabregas' opener with a fine header in first-half injury time.

Tottenham responded to Chelsea's win in style on Sunday as Harry Kane scored a hat-trick and set up another goal for Dele Alli in a 4-0 win over Stoke at White Hart Lane.

However, Mauricio Pochettino will have been concerned by injuries to key centre-backs Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld as he seeks to reign in Conte's title favourites.

Elsewhere, Watford's January signing Mauro Zarate suffered a season-ending knee injury as the Hornets drew 1-1 with West Ham.
