Eric Dier and Heung-min Son will both miss Tottenham’s Europa Conference League opener against Rennes tomorrow as they continue to recover from injuries.

Son suffered a calf strain while on international duty with South Korea earlier this month, while Dier picked up a dead leg against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Dier collided with Jordan Ayew in the 12th minute of the 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park, forcing him to go off, and he is a doubt for Spurs’ game with Chelsea on Sunday too.

Japhet Tanganga, who is suspended for the game with Chelsea after being sent off against Crystal Palace, will be part of the Tottenham squad in France.

Nuno Espirito Santo, however, will still be without Tottenham’s South American trio of Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso — who are all training in Croatia to avoid quarantining in the UK after international duty.

They will miss tomorrow’s night clash with Rennes, but they could perhaps feature against Chelsea as they will return to the UK on Saturday.

Spurs’ away game with Rennes tomorrow is likely to be their toughest test in Group G, with matches against Dutch side Vitesse and Slovenian club Mura to come.
