Liverpool boss Arne Slot earned a significant wage increase when moving from former side Feyenoord to Merseyside this summer. Slot, who was at the Dutch side for three years, was earning approximately around $5m per-season at the Rotterdam side.

Slot's salary jumped to around $8m per-year when he moved to Liverpool, and that's before bonuses, which are likely linked to winning the Premier League, Champions League and domestic trophies.

Yet Slot's salary at Liverpool pales in comparison to what Pep Guardiola earns at Manchester City, with the Spaniard's yearly wage sitting at a mammoth $25m. Slot's predecessor Jurgen Klopp also pocketed around $18m per year at Anfield.

And Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly set for a boost of his own, with the Dutchman likely to sign a new contract extension at the club. Ten Hag was expected to leave Old Trafford despite winning the FA Cup at the end of last season.

United met with Thomas Tuchel but failed to come to an agreement with the German coach, and so United decided to retain Ten Hag, due in part to the lack of realistic alternatives. Ten Hag's current contract, which is set to run out next summer, currently sees the former Ajax manager earn $11m per-season at Old Trafford.

However, Ten Hag is close to penning an extension that will keep him at United until 2027, reports The Mirror. United endured a poor season under Ten Hag, finishing eighth in the Premier League, some 31 points behind title winners City, and they also finished bottom of theor Champions League group, which contained the likes of Bayern Munich, Galatasaray and Copenhagen.

The win in the FA Cup means United have qualified for the Europa League next season, and the pressure will be on Ten Hag to make a marked improvement in the league.

Liverpool.com says: Ten Hag will now face big pressure to succeed after landing a lucrative contract extension at United. The FA Cup win somewhat saved what was a very bad season for United, with the early exit from the Champions League an embarrassment for the club.
