Erin Krakow is ready for a sequel to It Was Always You!

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the When Calls The Heart star, 39, shares her excitement about the possibility of filming a sequel to the 2021 Hallmark Channel hit with costar Tyler Hynes.

"I would be very, very happy for us to have a sequel to It Was Always You," she says of the rom-com in which she plays Lizzy, a woman whose meticulous life plans are thrown off-course when her fiancé's brother David returns home and puts some "zing" into her life.

"If not a sequel, just another opportunity for Tyler and I to reunite on something. He's a great, great guy and so fun to work with and I think people really enjoyed that chemistry. So let's do it again," Krakow adds.

The feelings are mutual. Hynes told Us Weekly last month that it would be "fun" to revisit the characters of Lizzy and David.

"I think those characters [with] Erin would be an interesting sequel," he said. "We’ve definitely both [been] passionate about each other’s work and want to [work together] again.”

As Hallmark fans wait with their fingers crossed, they can see Krakow in her new movie, Blind Date Book Club this Saturday, April 6. She stars as Meg, a Nantucket bookstore owner who creates local buzz when she starts to sell mystery books in her shop that people can later discuss at the store.

Part of the reason for the chatter about Meg's Blind Date Book Club is that people are meeting and making their own love connections at the discussions. However, she is resistant to the idea until Graham Sterling (Robert Buckley), a best-selling author, comes in and asks for her help with a passion project.

Krakow is excited for fans to experience the film's "You've Got Mail vibes" — referring to the 1998 rom-com starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan — and see her chemistry with Buckley, 42.

"Every day with Rob felt so fun," she says. "I'm trying to think of one particular moment, and it's tricky because I just feel like he brought so much joy to that set every day."

"He comes up with these crazy lines and dry sarcastic humor and everybody likes him. It's annoying how much everybody likes him," Krakow jokes.

Teaming up with Buckley for Blind Date Book Club felt like a perfect fit to Krakow because she felt like the story had elements of his shows One Tree Hill and Chesapeake Shores, and so with him as her costar, she "knew it was going to be gold."

"It's got something for everyone," Krakow adds.
