Euro 2024: Odds and schedule for Portugal-Czech Republic

The 2024 UEFA European Championship is underway in Germany, and only a few teams still have yet to play their first matches in the opening group stage.

Two of those teams are Portugal and the Czech Republic; they will face off on Tuesday in Leipzig in what will be the first 2024 Euro competition for each team. Both teams are part of Group F, which also features Turkey and Georgia – two more teams playing in their first match on Tuesday.

Group F is one of the six groups of four teams in the Euro's initial stage of tournament competition. After a round-robin set of matches between the four members in each group, the top two teams advance to the knockout stages. The four best teams to finish in third place also advance.

Portugal won its first – and so far, only – European Championship in 2016. The Czech Republic were runners-up in 1996, but before it was its own independent nation, it won as Czechoslovakia in the 1976 tournament.
