Euro 2024 has reached the last-16 stage and today sees France take on Belgium at 5pm before Portugal play Slovenia at 8pm.

England are through to the quarter-finals already, after yet another unconvincing performance, this time against Slovakia, whom they beat thanks to two goals scored after 90 minutes.

In Sunday’s late match, Spain came back from behind to thrash Georgia.

Today’s fixtures and predictions

France vs Belgium, 5pm, ITV

France’s tournament has followed a similar pattern to England’s: solid enough defensively but stilted in attack. Discord follows Belgium around though, and they have one of the weakest centre-back pairings of the leading nations. Kevin De Bruyne cannot do it all on his own.
Predicted score: 2-0

Portugal vs Slovenia, 8pm, BBC

Roberto Martinez has mixed up his tactics from game to game, but Portugal ought to have too much midfield quality for a Slovenia team who struggled to threaten against England.
Predicted score: 3-0

How to watch Euro 2024 on TV

The BBC and ITV/STV are sharing broadcast rights for the European Championship in the United Kingdom.

The BBC showed England’s opening win against Serbia and broadcast their draw with Denmark after ITV banked on Gareth Southgate’s men reaching at least the semi-finals.

ITV picked England’s final Group C game against Slovenia, plus the last-16 fixture against Slovakia and any semi-final.

The BBC will show the England quarter-final, with both channels – as always – sharing the final.
