Manchester City moved 10 points clear at the Premier League summit with a 17th successive win across all competitions against Everton.

Pep Guardiola’s dominant side look to be marching to the title at a canter after extending their incredible, record-breaking run of victories at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

It was a competitive first half on Merseyside, with City edging ahead through Phil Foden’s 11th goal of the season - a low drive from the England midfielder that beat the returning Jordan Pickford after taking a big deflection off Seamus Coleman, who was introduced as an early substitute after an injury sustained by Yerry Mina.

However, Everton went in at the break level after a touch of good fortune, with Lucas Digne’s well-struck half-volley hitting the post and bouncing in off the knee of Richarlison.

But City were not to be denied, with Riyad Mahrez arrowing in a spectacular swerving strike off the post to hand City back the lead with just under half an hour to play.

Their latest triumph was wrapped up 13 minutes from time by Bernardo Silva, who finished off another excellent team move with a powerful strike that Pickford might feel he should have done better with after getting a hand to the ball.
