A mini-deadline day of sorts is approaching for Premier League clubs. The summer transfer window does not close until August 30, but there is something of a mini deadline coming up.

Clubs have until June 30 to get deals done before their 2023/24 financial accounts are completed. Any deals, either incoming or outgoing, before June 30 will be on the 2023/24 accounts sheet, rather than 2024/25.

And that is significant when it comes to complying with Financial Fair Play and the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules. Clubs are only allowed to make a loss of £105million over a three-year period, meaning June 30 could be crucial for a number of teams.

Chelsea, Aston Villa, Leicester, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton were all named as teams who could need to sell players in order to comply with PSR moving forward. A number of those clubs are already tied up in deals for young players at the moment.

Tim Iroegbunam swapped Villa for Everton, while Lewis Dobbin went the other way. Chelsea are set to sign Omari Kellyman from Villa too, with Ian Maatsen set to join Villa.

Clubs are sorting out their finances quickly, but it appears Everton are still in need of a sale. According to transfer expert David Ornstein, the Toffees still need a sale before Sunday to ensure they comply with PSR.

And that could alert the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham to a quick sale. Everton would be reluctant to lose one of their big stars ahead of the new Premier League season, but they may not have a choice.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Amadou Onana this summer. Everton may be demanding a fee in the region of £60million for the Belgian, but that figure could drop if they need to complete a sale quickly.

Likewise United and Spurs have been linked with a move for defender Jarrad Branthwaite - Everton's crown jewel. Branthwaite won the players' player of the season award at Goodison Park and has been valued at at least £70million.

Everton would be more likely to let someone else go on the cheap than face lowering their price tag for Branthwaite, however.
