Everton rival Arsenal for Wilfried Zaha as Crystal Palace demand £80m transfer fee

Everton are ready to rival Arsenal for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.

The Eagles are facing a fight to keep hold of Zaha this summer, who finished last season with 10 goals and five assists to his name.

Arsenal have so far been viewed as the frontrunners to sign the Ivorian, who is valued by Crystal Palace at around £80million, but now Standard Sport understands Everton are in the running too.

The Toffees are due to bank around £22.5m from the sale of Ademola Lookman to RB Leipzig and they are ready to reinvest that money in another wide forward.

Zaha is understood to be the target they have identified and Everton’s majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, has shown in the past he is willing to spend big in the transfer market.

Whether Zaha would be tempted by a move to Goodison Park remains to be seen.

Earlier this year the forward expressed his desire to play in the Champions League, while more recently his brother, Judicael Zaha, said the 26-year-old wanted to joined Arsenal .

Everton will also face tough negotiations with Palace, who are in a strong position given Zaha still has four years to run on his £130,000-a-week contract.
