Hibs midfielder Ewan Henderson is poised to complete a move to Belgium side Beerschot.

The ex-Celtic youngster spent the second part of last season on loan with Oostende and made a major impression by netting seven times in 30 appearances for the Belgian second-tier outfit. Oostende had an option to purchase the 24-year-old for a six-figure fee this summer but were unable to conclude the deal due to financial difficulties.

But Henderson will now get the chance to play in the Pro League with newly-promoted Beerschot. It's believed Hibs will bank at least £150,000 from the move, with performance add-ons included.

Henderson - the brother of Scottish Cup-winning idol Liam - moved to Easter Road in 2022 following a successful loan stint from Parkhead. He played 56 games for the Hibees, but managed just one sub outing last season.

The attacking midfielder will become the latest player to have been offloaded by new boss David Gray this summer, following Paul Hanlon, Lewis Stevenson, Adam Le Fondre, Dylan Tait and Jacob Blaney out the door. Veteran keeper David Marshall has retired, while youngsters Murray Johnson, Kyle McClelland and Murray Aitken have all been shipped out on loan.
