Horsham won the Senior Cup for the first time in 48 years.

And they celebrated in style at the Amex.

About 2,000 Hornets fans saw their side beat Hastings 3-0 in the final of the Sussex Transport competition.

Success rounded off a season which has seen them reach their best position in the Isthmian League premier division and go on memorable FA Cup and FA Trophy runs.

Horsham boss Dom Di Paola said: “I was over the moon with the performance.

“I looked in that changing room before the game and I just thought we had that desire to go out and win it “I didn’t think we had to do much as a management team to motivate them.

“I thought they were exceptional.”

Horsham led early on when former Albion youngster Reece Myles-Meekums saw his angled effort find a way inside the far post.

The second was headed home by Shamir Fenelon from close range after Lucas Rodrigues had nodded the ball back across goal.

It was a triumphant return to the stadium for Fenelon, who came through the Albion ranks and started the 2013-14 season up front alongside Chris O’Grady under the management of Sami Hyypia.

Daniel Ajakaiye rounded off the scoring with a calm finish inside the far post.
