Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge was involved in Beta Squad's charity game during the weekend.

The 34-year-old, currently a free agent, is making the most of his downtime. Two popular YouTube groups Beta Squad and AMP, raised all proceeds to the Water Project, a cause providing clean water to villages across sub-Saharan Africa.

Sturridge meanwhile, was brought on for the final 15 minutes in the 6-6 draw at Selhurst Park. The hosts had been leading by a single goal when Sturridge was through on goal and had just goalkeeper UTDTrey to beat.

The keeper, who did the best to narrow the angle, saw Sturridge chip the ball harmlessly up into the air which ended going wide off the goal. The former Reds striker reacted in disbelief and placed his hands on his head.

Shortly after, he made no mistake after being presented with a second chance. There was chaos around him however, with Kai Cenat and AJ Shabeel fighting in the corner, but Sturridge calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

He brought back his iconic dance celebration as his teammates surrounded him.

Sturridge was also offered a chance to score the winner but Danny Aarons raced back to clear the ball off the line at the death. A penalty shootout was planned to decide the winner between the two YouTube groups.

But in the end, that did not go ahead following a pitch invasion after Sturridge's late equaliser. Players were removed from the pitch and the match was called off after a mystery Premier League footballer, wearing a large mask, stole the show, scoring at both ends.
