'An excellent addition to our squad' - Wycombe sign former MK wing-back

Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the signing of former Milton Keynes wing-back, Daniel Harvie.

The 25-year-old left-sided defender joins the Chairboys after four years in the north of the county, where he played 166 times and scored 10 times.

He even bagged a strike against his new employers when the two Buckinghamshire outfits met in April 2023 at Adams Park, which finished 2-2.

Upon his arrival at Bucks’ first EFL side, manager Matt Bloomfield told the club’s website: “Dan’s an excellent addition to our squad and we’re thrilled that he’s decided to make the move to Wycombe and be part of what we’re building here.

“He was one of the best left-backs and wing-backs in League One for a couple of years and has also shown he can play wide of a back three.

"The data tells us that playing as a full-back will complement his strengths as well, so having someone who can play in a few positions will give us another dimension on the left side.

“The squad is taking shape nicely ahead of the season, which is a testament to the hard work of everybody behind the scenes.

“We’re excited to combine these new faces with the quality we’ve already got in the squad and make sure we’re as strong as we can be when the season kicks off next month.”

The Glaswegian began his career at Aberdeen, spending nine years at Pittodrie, but only played seven times for the first team across three seasons.

A successful loan move to Dumbarton followed in the 2016/17 campaign followed, before he permanently left the Dandies in 2018.

He would go into have two years at Ayr United, playing 77 times and scoring once.

His positive performances caught the eye of those at Milton Keynes who signed Harvie in 2020 for an undisclosed fee.

His final appearance for MK was in the club’s 5-1 home drubbing against Crawley Town in the League Two play-off semi-final second leg in May.

The result, which finished 8-1 on aggregate, is the most one-sided score line in EFL play-off history.

He has also played seven times against the Chairboys in his career, achieving three wins, suffering three defeats and experiencing one draw.

His move to Adams Park is subject to approval from the FA and the EFL.
