Falmouth Town Football Club has thanked its chairman of nearly ten years as he stands down.

Graham Medlin, a pillar of the club for nearly two decades, announced he would step away from the role following the club’s awards night held at the Falmouth Hotel this month.

Medlin’s journey with Falmouth Town began in 2005. Over the years, he served in various positions, including vice chairman and director, before becoming chairman in 2013.

Under Medlin’s leadership, Falmouth Town celebrated a series of remarkable achievements. Most notably, the club earned a promotion from the South West Peninsula League to the Southern League.

Furthermore, Medlin played an instrumental role in navigating the club through a period of financial turmoil, ensuring its survival.

While Medlin will be stepping down as chairman, he will remain actively involved with the club as a director. He will continue to lend his expertise and experience to oversee the completion of ongoing projects, ensuring a smooth transition for the club.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Town said: “The club would like to thank Graham for his exceptional and dedicated service over many years.”

Falmouth Town has already commenced the search for a new Chairman to lead the club into a new chapter.

Individuals with a strong passion for football, a clear vision for the future, and a desire to build upon the club's recent successes are encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should submit their applications to Malcolm Newland at malcolm.newland53@gmail.com and/or Andrew Westgarth at amwestgarth@hotmail.co.uk.
