Josh Dasilva is set to sign a new contract at Brentford in the coming weeks.

The 25-year-old midfielder has entered the last two months of his contract during an injury-hit season.

Talks have progressed rapidly from late April to extend his current deal, which expires on 30 June.

Thomas Frank is keen to keep hold of Dasilva despite losing him to injury for much of the season.

Successive hamstring, ankle and knee injuries have seen the Arsenal academy graduate, who was signed in 2018, make only five appearances.

Brentford offered to help Dasilva through his recuperation process after knee surgery in February even if he left the club.

It highlights how well regarded he is after playing 157 times for the Bees, helping the club achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and comfortably survive relegation in the following three seasons.

Defender Ben Mee is also in talks to extend his contract, which expires in the summer.

But midfielder Frank Onyeka could seek a move away from Brentford, having dropped to the bench in recent weeks.

The Nigeria international had interest from Fulham, Everton, Girona and Reims in the January transfer window. Brentford have secured Premier League survival and are 16th in the table with two matches left to play.
