Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will consider immediately integrating new signing Facundo Pellistri into Manchester United's first team squad following his €10m arrival from Penarol.

The 18-year-old winger was one of four deadline day signings at Old Trafford, alongside Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and fellow teenager Amad Diallo.

United ultimately failed in their pursuit of priority target Jadon Sancho, with Dortmund unwilling to lower their €120m valuation of the right winger.

Pellistri also predominantly plays on the right-hand side of the attack and could be called upon by Solskjaer sooner rather than later.

Solskjaer rates Pellistri highly, describing him as "a real talent for the long term" upon his arrival, and having spoken about him with former United stiker Diego Forlan, his ex-manager at Penarol.

Pellistri's progress has been extensively monitored by United since he first came to the attention of the club's South American scouts over three years ago.

“To join a club with the history of Manchester United is a dream come true. I have learnt a lot at Peñarol and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me," Pellistri said.

"To have the confidence of the manager is an amazing feeling and I know that working with him will be perfect for my development. I am coming into a squad full of great players who I will learn from every day.

"Everyone knows that Manchester United is a club that gives young players an opportunity and I am ready to work hard every day to earn those chances and prove myself in England.”
