Fan wins $1,000 on center ice shot, and her reaction was priceless (Video)
If you’ve been to a hockey game, you’ve probably witnessed someone attempting to win money or a car or some other fanciful prize with a center ice shot at intermission.
And while you might believe it’s easy to smack a rubber disc into an open net – hence the traditional booing when someone misses badly – trying it with money on the line in front of thousands of people can be daunting.
So much respect to McKenzie Casey, who sent a rolling puck down the ice and into the net during an ECHL Missouri Mavericks game against Alaska on Friday night.
Check out her heartfelt reaction:
How can the holiday season get better? How about hitting a shot from the far blue line for $1,000?! @Buccigross @wyshynski #MoMavs pic.twitter.com/kqxEwXivIc

Gotta love that moment when the crowd realizes that wobbly, rolling puck is going to cross the line.
The Mavericks are the New York Islanders’ minor league affiliate. The way things have gone for them, perhaps this is an audition?
