Arsenal travel to face FC Zurich in their opening Europa League group-stage match tonight.

Mikel Arteta’s side only had domestic competitions to focus on last season, though they were unable to use that to their advantage and secure Champions League football.

As a result it’s the Europa League for the Gunners, a competition in which they have reached at least the semi-finals in three of the past five seasons.

After winning their first five league games of the campaign, Arsenal suffered their first slip-up as they were beaten by Manchester United last time out.

While rotation is likely this evening, Arteta will see it as hugely important for his side to return to winning ways and ensure that Old Trafford defeat does not build into something more serious.
