The Fermanagh Endurance Adventure Race (FEARmanagh) is now accepting registrations for 2024.

FEARmanagh, which starts and ends at the Derrygonnelly Community Centre, gives attendees the opportunity to run, cycle, and kayak over a lengthy route of 74km or a shorter path of 35km.

The event is focused on Fermanagh's natural landscapes and is operated by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.

The race is expected to welcome approximately 300 participants to Derrygonnelly on Saturday, September 28.

In 2023, the council sought to minimise the occasion's eco-impact with its 'Greening our Event' initiative.

Further efforts are planned for the 2024 version to ensure a sustainable environment and community.

The district council's partnership with Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark has helped realise the event, gaining further backing from local services such as the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, and the Irish Red Cross.

The race is also supported by Derrygonnelly and District Community Partnership and the Derrygonnelly Community Centre.

Councillor John McClaughry, chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, said: "FEARmanagh is one of the highlight events for not only the council but also the local community.

"This event promotes physical and mental wellbeing while showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark.

"We look forward to all participants joining with us in embracing this empowering experience."
