Two weeks ago marked the third year of the Ballinamallard Youth Football Tournament held at Fisher Park.

The cross-community event saw another successful evening with over 100 youngsters coming together in a well-spirited tournament as family and friends cheered on 13 non-denominational teams of boys and girls competing and bringing together various churches and parishes from around the county of Fermanagh.

Stonepark Baptist Boys' and Irvinestown Independent Methodist Girls' came out winners on both sides following a fun-filled evening with the boys final going all the way to extra-time and penalties until Stonepark sealed the victory.

Former Tyrone Gaelic footballer and now lay reader for the Church of Ireland, Paddy Quinn, had a short testimony at the event as he also shared how he found true happiness through his faith after so many years playing football.

Families of the participants enjoyed food from the BBQ with plenty of positive feedback from all parishes involved to cap off a successful Thursday (9th) evening in Ballinamallard.

The tournament organisers were keen to express their gratitude to all volunteers who helped on the day and congratulate all participants for their commitment and sportsmanship.
