FOOTBALL - Roy Keane shows funny side over Robbie Keane

Robbie Keane became a father for the second time on Monday, but the Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane insists his country’s record goalscorer will be ready for the key match with Germany on Thursday.

It's a crucial match for the Republic as they must pick up a result against either the world champion Germans in Dublin or away in Poland on Sunday.

When asked by a reporter if his namesake will be fit to face the Germans, Roy Keane said: “Yeah, why wouldn’t he be?”

A reporter responded: “Because his wife just had a baby?”

But Roy said: “Yeah, but he didn’t have the baby. Unless he’s breastfeeding, he should be all right.”
