FOOTBALL: Carlos Tevez sent into orbit in ridiculous tackle

When Carlos Tevez backed his bags and left Italian giants Juventus and Europe for Boca Juniors, he said he did so for the passion and tribalism of Argentinian football.

He just probably didn’t have this kind of tackle in mind.

Boca are likely to fall short of the league title and there was further pain for Tevez against Racing Club when he was skittled in a tackle we thought was outlawed a generation ago.

Tevez was sent into the sky by the challenge and while the Racing defender won the ball, he did concede a free-kick. He wasn't happy about it but Tevez was none too chuffed himself.
