Former Jurgen Klopp backroom staff member Andreas Kornmayer is poised for a reunion with ex-Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders at Red Bull Salzburg.

Reports in Germany have indicated Kornmayer, who was the Reds' head of fitness and conditioning under Klopp, has agreed to move to the Austrian club.

Lijnders was appointed as Salzburg head coach last month with Vitor Matos, Liverpool's former elite development coach, as his assistant. And now Kornmayer is close to being confirmed the new performance manager at the Red Bull outfit.

Kornmayer was one of several key coaching staff members to follow Lijnders and Matos in leaving Liverpool at the end of the season after Klopp chose to end his Anfield stay after almost nine years.

Klopp's other assistant, Peter Krawietz, has also departed, along with goalkeeping coaches John Achterberg and Jack Robinson. Head of recovery and performance, Andreas Schlumberger, has also gone.

With Arne Slot replacing Klopp as head coach, his former Feyenoord colleague Ruben Peeters has confirmed he is to become first team lead physical performance coach at Liverpool.
