Former Reading defender exits Coventry City after near decade of success as coach

Former Reading defender Adi Viveash has departed his coaching role with Coventry City after seven years.

The 54-year-old had three spells with the Royals in the 1990s and early 2000s, making over 70 appearances.

Walsall and his hometown Swindon were two other major clubs in his 15-year professional playing career.

Coaching within Chelsea's fabled Academy for nearly a decade, the former defender has been at the CBS Arena since 2017- helping former Reading striker Mark Robins bring nothing but success to the East Midlands.

The Sky Blues, who had long spells of poor ownership in the last decade, were in League Two when Viveash arrived.

Since then, Robins and Viveash have taken the club through the divisions and very nearly into the Premier League, losing the play-off final on penalties in 2023.

Finishing ninth last campaign, the club decided to 'revamp' their coaching structure and Viveash departed.

George Boateng and Rhys Carr have taken up roles in Robins' coaching staff for the coming season.
