Former Town loanee suffers relegation from the Premier League

Former Ipswich Town loanee Andros Townsend has suffered relegation from the Premier League with Luton Town.

Rob Edwards' side were officially relegated on Sunday following their 4-2 defeat at home to Fulham, having spent just one season in the top flight.

Townsend moved to Kenilworth Road in October on a short-term deal after leaving Everton, signing a new a long-term contract in January.

The 32-year-old winger made 31 appearances for the Hatters, scoring one goal as they return to the Championship with Burnley and Sheffield United.

He spent the first half of the 2010/11 season at Portman Road on loan from Spurs, making 16 appearances for the Blues and netting one goal.

Since then, Townsend has played for the likes of Newcastle and Crystal Palace, while also winning 13 caps for England and scoring three goals.
