Rangers Fan View: Four top performers in the win over Dundee

It was nice for Rangers to get back to winning ways this weekend. I felt it would be a difficult game with Dundee coming to Ibrox. In the end, we won very comfortably 4-0, with goals from Kenny Miller, Alfredo Morelos, Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias.

I am going to take a look at the four players who impressed me on the afternoon, as we regained second place on goal difference from Aberdeen.

Ross McCrorie

It was his first appearance since the Celtic game in December and young Ross didn’t look like he had been away. He was a picture of composure and presence at the back. He gave us the pace that we have been lacking in that area, too. The boy was excellent and it was a shame for him to go off with cramp. However, it’s certainly a good display and number of minutes to get under his belt before the semi next weekend.

Andy Halliday

He got half an hour after replacing Docherty and it was up there with his best displays for us. I liked how he worked hard and gave us some drive from the deeper areas. It was good to see, especially as Docherty didn’t have his best afternoon. His performance was very pleasing; he merits some praise.

Daniel Candeias

The good side of his game was on show. His delivery for Morelos’ goal was inch-perfect and he was a constant threat to Dundee when we broke away. Furthermore, he was awarded the stadium man of the match and he probably just shaded it. He took his time and made sure he scored the fourth, putting the icing on the cake.

Alfredo Morelos

A goal and an assist for the wee man. It was so pleasing to see him score that tap-in from five yards because that’s the kind of opportunity he’s been missing of late. The relief on his face was priceless. Additionally, stealing the ball and setting up Murphy was no less than he deserved for the amount of unselfish running he put in. Hopefully, this will spur him on to grab a goal next weekend.
