Frank Lampard Reveals That He Has a Soft Spot for THREE Premier League Clubs

Frank Lampard is a Chelsea and Premier League legend. Having spent most of those 20 years predominantly playing for three different clubs in England's top flight, he moved to the MLS' newest football team, New York City in 2015.

With this in mind, you would probably think that it would be easy to predict which three English football clubs Lampard admits to having a 'soft spot' when asked this very question in a Q&A session with New York City fans recently.

Whilst two of them were fairly obvious, the third club has certainly raised a few eyebrows.

Replying to the fan's question on this very topic, Lampard said: "I guess the obvious is Chelsea."

"The second one might be slightly obvious, it's Man City. I never envisaged playing for Manchester City at that point in my career, but I have to say the fans, players, staff...took me in so well in that year I was there."

Once leaving Chelsea in 2014, Lampard signed for newly established New York City but with the American season not starting until later in the year, the former Chelsea man signed a somewhat controversial loan deal with Manchester City.

Despite spending over 10 years at Chelsea, Lampard started his career in East London with West Ham, signing for the club as a young 16-year-old in 1994. So its fairly obvious what the third club on his list was.... right?

Well the New York City midfielder revealed all, saying: "One outsider would be Swansea City which is a club where I went on loan to for two months at 17 years of age. They were in the old second division at that point, and they've come a long way since. And I've been delighted to see them come that way."

Forgotten by many, Lampard spent time with the Swans before breaking into the West Ham side in the mid 90's.

As the Chelsea legend noted, both he and the Welsh club have come a long way since then, although it would be interesting to see what Lampard thinks of the decision to appoint American, Bob Bradley, as first team manager.

As for West Ham fans, things really aren't getting much better for them. They may feel aggrieved by this snub but with the way things have been going on the pitch for the Hammers this season, its hardly surprising that bad news has managed to come even from something as trivial as this.
