Fulham are closing in on the signing of Wolfsburg defender Kevin Mbabu in a deal worth an initial £5million.

Negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.

Mbabu, an attacking full-back, was looking for a new challenge with his Wolfsburg contract entering its final 12 months.

The 27-year-old has long been a target for Fulham, who are racing ahead to close deals this week with the club in Portugal for their pre-season in tour.

Joao Palhinha's £20m move from Sporting remains the only deal that has been officially announced this summer, but others are expected to follow imminently.

The club have made plans to fly Israel international Manor Solomon to their training camp as FIFA ratifies his loan move from Shakhtar Donetsk.

A £10m deal to sign Andreas Periera from Manchester United has been confirmed, with confidence growing around the possible signing of Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno for a similar fee.
