New Fulham signing Sasa Lukic happy to follow in the footsteps of friend Aleksandar Mitrovic

Sasa Lukic is happy to follow in the footsteps of his Serbia team-mate Aleksandar Mitrovic after sealing an £8million switch to Craven Cottage.

Lukic joined from Torino on a busy deadline day for Fulham, who finally agreed a loan deal for Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares.

A Serbia international who started all of their matches at the World Cup in Qatar, Lukic has impressed in Serie A and came through the same academy at Partizan Belgrade as Mitrovic.

Lukic said: "I've seen Fulham play this season and they've been playing very well. They have a good squad, with a great history.

"A lot of great players have played for the club in its history, and they have a lot of great players currently, like my compatriot Aleksandar Mitrovic."

In order to complete a loan deal for Cedric, Fulham had to sign on-loan defender Shane Duffy on a permanent deal.
