Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has sparked concerns over his fitness for Brazil's Copa America campaign by seeming to pick up an injury in training this week.

Dorival Junior's team take on Costa Rica in Inglewood, United States on Monday in their first Copa America fixture. Brazil are one of the favourites to win the tournament, alongside Argentina, with an abundance of talent at their disposal.

However, Martinelli's chances of featuring in their opening fixture has been placed into doubt following footage of him being involved in a collision with Real Madrid's Eder Militao.

As part of an attacking routine, Martinelli seems to make contact with Militao after connecting with a cross from the right. The winger stayed down and Martinelli was quick to call for physios to check him out.

Militao did attempt to pull him back up, but the Arsenal star remained down. He received treatment from three members of the medical staff before hobbling off the pitch with what seemed to be a problem with his right foot.

Martinelli received further treatment on the sidelines before the video ended. It remains to be seen how serious the knock is, though his involvement in Selecao's campaign is likely to be off the bench with the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Endrick and Raphinha ahead of him.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping the problem is only a short-term issue and not one that disrupts his plans for next season. Martinelli has been the Spaniard's first-choice left-winger over the past two years.
