Gerald Taylor Hearts transfer advances as agent details 'many approaches' and 'formal offer'

Gerald Taylor is on the verge of joining Hearts this summer as they beat off other clubs for the defender.

The Costa Rican full-back, 23, is in advanced discussions with the Jambos to leave current club Deportivo Saprissa and join up with Steven Naismith's side as they look to push on in the Europa League. We at Football Scotland understand the move is close to being completed after weeks of negotiation and now his agent has revealed the player had "many approaches" for his signature this summer.

Carl Gordon of Dearte Sports explained how his client is ready for the next step at Tynecastle once he finishes with his national team who play Brazil.

“It is a secret to no one that Gerald Taylor has done an excellent campaign with Saprissa and with the national team," Gordon told Columbia Digital in Costa Rica.

“The young player has fulfilled his role very well even playing in different positions. Due to that there has been many approaches and close contacts, showing interest in Gerald. At this moment we have a formal offer.”
