Ipswich Town goalkeeper Nick Hayes has joined National League side Barnet on a long-term contract.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Solihull Moors, where he helped them reach Wembley twice in the National League play-off and FA Trophy finals.

Hayes was out of contract with Town this summer after he re-joined the Blues in January 2022 from Hemel Hempstead, having previously been in the academy at Portman Road.

He departs without making a senior appearance for the Blues, fulfilling the role as the third/fourth-choice keeper over the last two seasons.

Manager Dean Brennan said: “Nick has the right type of character that we have been searching for. His attributes suit our philosophy and he has the correct mentality that we need to bring success to our football club.

“Nick signs a long term contract with us which is brilliant. I know his personality; he will be a very popular member of our squad and a player that I know our supporters will be delighted to join me in welcoming him to our Club.”

The Bees finished second in the fifth tier last season, losing against Solihull in the National League play-off semi-final.
