Gossip: Angry Ronaldo 'demands to leave Real Madrid', Messi 'signs new contract, Arsenal 'still want Sterling'

Ronaldo – OUT; Messi – IN; Sterling – WANTED. It seems…

Cristano Ronaldo has had a busy few months. He demanded to leave Real Madrid, then he decided to stay, then he was named FIFA Player of the Year, then he passed 115 million Instagram followers, then his girlfriend gave birth to twins and proved yet again that he clearly, definitely isn’t gay. In fact, the only thing Cristiano hasn’t been doing recently is scoring goals – he has just one in La Liga this season.

Never mind, the show must go on – and it does. Ronaldo has demanded to leave Real Madrid. Again.

This time it isn’t alleged tax evasion that has got Ronnie’s goat; it’s a lack of “affection” being shown by his employer.

The Express reports that Ronaldo was so “angry” with the club’s latest contract renewal offer that he “cannot stand being at the club any longer” and has demanded to leave the Bernabeu “for a small fee”.

You may recall that CR7 already signed a new Real contract this time last year, making him the world’s best-paid player (at the time) and tying him to the club until 2021. So why they have just offered him another extension is anyone’s guess.

In any case, it seems he didn’t like it. “He considers that he needs more affection, the club does not value him,” Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre reportedly revealed.

Not that Madrid will be necessarily be sad about this. The Express adds that club president Florentino Perez wants to form a “new-look attack” of Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Sounds very nice.

There are no such problems for Ronaldo’s nemesis Lionel Messi, who has agreed a new contract extension at Barcelona, according to La Liga chief Javier Tebas (Sun).

Wenger wants ‘diver’ Sterling

Meanwhile, Arsenal are still pursuing the Alexis Sanchez/Raheem Sterling swap deal, despite Arsene Wenger labelling the Manchester City forward a “diver” earlier this month.

The Sun says the Gunners boss will attempt to revive the transfer in January in a last-ditch attempt to avoid losing Alexis on a free. He’ll presumably tell Raheem that the diving furore was all a hilarious misunderstanding after he saw some photos of the player in scuba gear. Hahahaha.

David Moyes has continued his hypothetical rejuvenation of his West Ham squad by making Brighton defender Lewis Dunk his number one target, claims the Mirror . So far the Scottish manager has already made Kevin Mirallas, Danny Ings and William Carvalho his “number one targets”. Either he keeps changing his mind, or it’s all made up drivel. Both seem plausible.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have suffered a major transfer blow after Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann agreed a “deal in principle” to join Barcelona (Mirror), Chelsea will sell midfielder Willian to fund a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura (Express) and the aforementioned Arsene Wenger wants to manage a side at the Qatar 2022 World Cup (Bein Sports). Just five more years to wait, Arsenal fans.
