Welcome to another day’s round-up of all the deals that will definitely maybe happen.

Here at Yahoo Towers, we’re not generally ones to revel in a manager losing his job, but without Steve Bruce being shown the door at Aston Villa after 102 matches in charge we would have very little filler to today’s football gossip.

So who will step up to replace the managerial legend?

Two Premier League legends from opposite sides of London are being tipped to replace Bruce in the Villa hotseat. Arsenal legend, Belgium assistant manager and one-time Bordeaux target Thierry Henry is being tipped by the Mirror for his first head coach gig.

Meawhile, the Sun claim it will be John Terry. The Chelsea legend spent last season at Villa under Bruce and the newspaper is backing JT for his first managerial job of his career. So who will it be?

Probably neither as another candidate has emerged from the shadows….erm Ukraine. The Birmingham Mail report Villa want Jorge Mendes client Paulo Fonseca in charge by October 20 after he was linked with the Everton job in the summer. Foneseca famously has attended press conferences dressed in a Zorro mask and would surely relish trading in the Champions League for the Championship.

Rabiot rejects third contract offer

We reported in yesterday’s Gossip that Adrien Rabiot was being linked with several Premier Leagues in the final months of his PSG contract, and we can report today that he has rejected a third contract offer from the Ligue 1 giants.

Spurs are reportedly interested but ‘his people’ are telling potential suitors Rabiot will not accept anything less than £9m a year for four years. That’s Tottenham ruled out then.

One man who will be signing a new deal is England boss Gareth Southgate. The man who lead the Three Lions to a World Cup semi final is set to sign a four-year extension worth £3m a year to lead England beyond the Qatar World Cup in 2022.

Barcelona ‘can’t afford’ Pogba

Paul Pogba’s ticket out of Man United could be scuppered by Barcelona’s astronomical wage bill.

It wouldn’t be a gossip column without an obligatory mention of Paul Pogba. Sorry.

Barcelona were keen to trumpet their record revenue of 916 million euros earlier this week. They were not so keen however on reporting that their wage bill accounts for 66 per cent of that turnover.

The upshot, Sam Wallace writes in the Telegraph, is that even if Barca wanted Paul Pogba they simply can’t afford him. That’s it then. Pogba definitely won’t be linked to LaLiga for £150m again. Ever.

Ramsey’s Juve move off?

Aaron Ramsey, has ‘no choice’ but to leave Arsenal after failing agree terms on a new contract. The Gunners midfielder is set to leave on a free in the summer and had been heavily linked with a shift to Juventus, however rumours abound that the Old Lady is balking at the Welshman’s wage demands. Signing Ronaldo has its downsides, huh?

Don’t fear for ‘Rambo’ though, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Milan are all reportedly still interested.

And finally – Radamel Falcao has been linked with David Beckham’s Inter Miami MLS side when Becks’ side takes to the MLS field in 2020; James Maddison is being tipped for an England call-up this month; Bournemouth are tracking Serie A midfielder Manuel Lazzari and Andy Carroll is nearing his comeback from his latest injury. Hurrah!
