England wing Chris Ashton has left Harlequins and joined Worcester Warriors.

Ashton only moved to The Stoop in March of last year after leaving Sale Sharks during the middle of the season.

The 33-year-old, however, is now on the move again and he has joined fellow Premiership side Worcester Warriors with immediate effect.

Ashton said: “I would like to thank Harlequins for agreeing to release me early from my contract to be able to join Worcester Warriors.

“The ability to continue my career in the Gallagher Premiership and play regular rugby means that this move is right for me and my family at this time. Thank you to everyone at Harlequins for your support during my time at the Club”.

Harlequins general manager Billy Millard added: “We have jointly agreed with Chris that the offer from Worcester Warriors is the right move for him and we will support him to move with immediate effect.

“We are fortunate at Harlequins to have a very strong and versatile backline with the likes of Nathan Earle, Cadan Murley, Ross Chisholm, Tyrone Greene, Louis Lynagh, Aaron Morris and Joe Marchant.

“We felt this opportunity for Chris to move to Worcester was right to support and everyone at Harlequins wishes him the very best for the future."
