But in an apparently unexpected move which has since left social media users swooning, Ms Barialo's boyfriend begins shaving his own head too towards the end of the clip.
The show of support left Ms Barilaro visibly overwhelmed, and has now won the attention of Twitter users and attracted nearly 10 million views after transitioning onto the platform having first being posted to TikTok back in May.
Twitter user Rex Chapman urged others to "get out the tissues" as he shared the clip on Wednesday, with others quick to heap praise on the "tender and loving" footage.

My husband buzzed my hair when chemo started to do its thing back in 2002 ... not one moment in our 30 years together has been more impactful! Best of luck to these two!

My wife also has suffered from Alopecia since she was 3 years old. During our vows. She commented on my receding hairline and said “we are just gonna be bald together” lol, which sparked a long laughter from those in attendance pic.twitter.com/GYrJmcemlP

This is my (now 21 year old daughter) Chloe and me during her treatment for leukemia at age 6, in 2005. A few days after I let her shave my head to match hers, she asked, Why didn’t we just shave a Barbie’s hair?” 🥴😂❤️ pic.twitter.com/wcuN75gGBl

Responding to the surge of comments, Ms Barilaro praised Mr Chapman for sharing the heartwarming clip of her and her partner.
“You rock, Thank you for sharing our video and help us spread our love,” she Tweeted.
