Highly-rated Arsenal talent Michelle Agyemang, 18, signs first professional contract

Arsenal starlet Michelle Agyemang has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old striker has been tipped for a big future and has already been a prolific scorer for England at youth level.

Agyemang made her debut for Arsenal when she was just 16, coming on during a win against Leicester in November 2022. She scored her first senior goal two months later, finding the net in a Women’s FA Cup game against Leeds.

Agyemang has spent this season on loan at Women’s Championship club Watford, scoring six goals and winning the second tier’s Player of the Month for January.

“Arsenal Football Club is like family to me, so signing a professional contract here is just incredible, it really is what dreams are made of,” said Agyemang. “I’m really grateful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to continue playing for the Arsenal.”

Agyemang has been with Arsenal since she was six years old and the club are delighted with her development.

Academy manager James Honeyman said: “We are delighted with how Michelle has progressed and are so proud of her journey to get to this moment.

“Michelle has been a key part of our academy set-up over several years and we’re all looking forward to seeing what she achieves in the professional game.

Director of women’s football at Arsenal, Clare Wheatley, added: "We’re thrilled that Michelle has put pen to paper on professional terms with us.

“Michelle has shown great goalscoring and playmaking ability at academy level and with hard work and dedication, we believe she has all the potential to apply this in the professional game.”
