Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj stressed upon improving on certain areas after the England tour and aims to work on them for the upcoming tour of Australia.

In June, India women’s team played their first Test match in Bristol after a span of seven years and the team enforced a draw against England women’s team.

The team lost both of their white-ball series by 1-2 as Mithali Raj was the lone scorer for India in the ODIs, in fact, she scored 206 from three games, which was the highest amongst both the teams in that series.

We know the areas we need to improve on after we came from the UK tour: Mithali Raj

“We know the areas we need to improve on after we came from the UK tour and we addressed those issues during our preparatory camp in Bangalore. We hope to come good as a unit in Australia. Whatever the result, we know we still will have a few months left in our preparation for the World Cup,” Raj said.

“Australia will be a tough and a good tour for us before the World Cup. We are playing against the best so we will know where we stand. We will know our composition pretty much looking into the World Cup and it’s also some good game time before the World Cup,” she added.

India women’s team will play against Australia in a multi-format series, they will start with three ODI matches followed by a pink-ball Test in Perth and will conclude with three T20 Internationals in Sydney.

The tour starts on September 19 with the first ODI to be played at North Sydney Oval in Sydney.
