SAINTS Women have said they are "delighted to confirm" that five players have extended their contracts with the club.

Jemma Purfield joined the club last summer and missed just one game in the 2023/24 campaign.

She has penned a one-year extension that will come into effect from July 1 and keep her at the club until the summer of 2025.

Fellow full-back, Meg Collett - an academy graduate - has also agreed new terms that will begin from July 1.

Collett has signed a three-year deal that will run until 2027 and see her reach a decade with her hometown club.

Another player who has successfully made the step up from academy football in recent seasons is Milly Mott.

The club revealed that the popular youngster had signed an extension during last season to keep her at the club until 2026.

Paige Peake also agreed terms during the last campaign, seeing her extend her time on the south coast until 2026.

Finally, Izzy Milne has agreed to an optional one-year extension, keeping her at the club until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Director of women's football, Marieanne Spacey-Cale said: "We're delighted to confirm these contract extensions.

"Each of the girls have played a part in our journey in their own right. Some of them have been with us from the start and progressed through the ranks,

"Meanwhile, others have joined more recently as we've established ourselves in the Championship.

"We're looking forward to seeing the impact they'll continue to have as we hope to kick on again next season."

Saints are still in the process of appointing a new women's manager, after Spacey-Cale stepped up and away from the role this summer.
