HOT FOOTBALL TRANSFER GOSSIP: Arsenal activity, Isco eyes City - and Balotelli wants to come home

It’s all come and go at Arsenal apparently.

The Premier League leaders are about to enter their traditional post-Christmas dip so need some new faces in a bid to stave this off – and manager Arsene Wenger is a busy man if the papers are to be believed.

With Mathieu Debuchy hinting he is ready to jump before the ship starts to sink and sign for Roma in the Daily Star, Wenger is ready to go head-to-head with Inter in a £15m battle for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot claims the Daily Express.

And the French champions will be looking to replace Rabiot quickly but will find the Gunners standing in the doorway and blocking their access to Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne – says ESPN.

But it’s not just about Arsenal.

London rivals West Ham – who claim they have already sold out the Olympic Stadium for every home match next season – want to wow those crowds with Leeds defender Sam Byram, whose contract expires at the end of the season and could be available on the cheap in January, claims the Telegraph.

The Mirror reports that Real Madrid midfielder Isco is hoping to bring about a move to Manchester City – for around £25m – but manager Manuel Pellegrini has no plans to sign cover for injury-plagued defender Vincent Kompany.

But, zut alors, Bordeaux skipper Henri Saivet must have realized that Kevin Keegan is no longer manager of title-chasing Newcastle United as the Chronicle reports that he might not join the Magpies after expressing concerns about their Premier League plight.

Perhaps somebody updated his Shoot league ladder…?

Great news for Manchester United fans though: Manager Louis Van Gaal has told The Sun of his plans to buy another striker and defended his decision to allow Javier Hernandez to leave Old Trafford (The Times).

And even better news for Liverpool fans: The Mail reports that Mario Balotelli’s agent is planning crunch talks with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to convince the German that the on-loan striker needs to be recalled to Anfield and kick start his career.
