Hot football transfer gossip: Draxler, Krychowiak, Kane

Schalke’s Julian Draxler is one of the hottest properties in European football and a strapping young lad to boot, which is a good job because he’s currently “at the centre of a three-way tussle” between Arsenal, Man Utd and Juventus.

It’s unclear which club’s manager is tugging hardest on the 21-year-old Germany international, but whoever gets him to come will have to make an “astronomical offer”, reports the Daily Star.

While exciting winger Draxler is exactly the kind of player Arsenal don’t need, there may be more substance to the Gunners’ alleged pursuit of Sevilla’s holding midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak. The Pole has a buy-out clause of precisely £21.26m, says the Telegraph, and it’s understood that Arsene Wenger is especially keen on the player because he feels his squad’s names have become too easy to spell since the departure of Wojciech Szeczny.

Man Utd have been told “to forget about” Harry Kane, write the Guardian, although that would be fairly difficult given the amount of media coverage he gets, not to mention the fact he was actually inside Old Trafford on Saturday playing against them. In any case, Tottenham are “adamant” the striker is not for sale.

In more encouraging news, United appear to have moved a step closer to signing Pedro, who scored the winning goal in yesterday’s Spanish Super Cup and subsequently told Barcelona he wants to leave the club, reports the Times.

Kevin de Bruyne has still not signed for Man City, you’ll be unsurprised to hear, but the club have apparently told the Belgian to “force a move” to the Etihad to speed things up. Not that they could really get any slower even if De Bruyne decided to walk all the way to Manchester - and stopped off on the way to check out Disneyland Paris for a couple of days.

You may recall that Adama Traore, the 19-year-old Barcelona winger, jetted in to England last week to seal a move to Liverpool. Well it turns out he must have taken a National Express coach down to Birmingham while he was here, because the Daily Mail today reports that his £12m switch to Aston Villa is “nearing completion”.

Italian side Torino have joined the race to sign Man Utd’s Javier Hernandez, assuming there is a race, Juventus are interested in Chelsea’s Ramires and West Ham have pulled out of a deal to sign Joey Barton because none of their fans like him.
